Two firefighters from New Tripoli Fire Company in Lehigh County died while helping fight a three alarm blaze in one part of Schuylkill County. The call came in around 4 pm Wednesday to a fire at a home in West Penn Township near Tamaqua with entrapment. Heavy smoke could be seen for miles from the fire in the 1100 block of Clamtown Road. About an hour into fighting the blaze two maydays were received from the firefighters working on the second floor. The two firefighters, Zachary Paris and Marvin Gruber, were rescued and taken to the hospital where they died from their injuries.
