UGI is looking to increase its natural gas rates. The utility provider filed a request with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) Monday for an overall annual rate increase of $110.4 million. If approved, residential heating customers would see a 10% monthly increase, commercial customers would see an 8.6% increase, and industrial customers would see a 7.5% increase. UGI says the increases would go toward system improvements and operations costs. The company requests the new rates take effect on March 28, but it is expected to be delayed due to PUC hearings.
