A controlled water shutdown by the Hazleton City Authority Water Department will leave portions of the area without water service starting after 9:00 p.m. tonight. The planned outage is required to allow a contractor to complete necessary infrastructure repairs and connect a new water main.
The scheduled interruption will impact customers in Beaver Meadows, Coxeville, and areas along Broad Street and points south, including Hazleton Heights and Hazle Village. Water service is expected to be fully restored by 5:00 a.m. Thursday morning. While returning service may temporarily bring reduced water pressure or minor discoloration, municipal officials confirmed that no boil water advisory will be required.
