Throughout there discussion Jay and Drew discussed a multitude of different things, including her thoughts on being more empathetic towards others by putting ourselves in others' shoes and treating them with kindness and compassion.

Throughout her life, Drew always made it a mission to figure out “why people did what they did.” But as she noted, “still to this day, like cruelty, arrogance, rudeness, short-temperedness, it’s just I don’t have time for it.”

Adding, ”and even worse, if I am ever guilty of those things… I take myself to task probably worse than anyone else.”

“I grew up in a job thats heavy on gossip and rumor and hearsay,” Drew expressed, “and I found that in my life everybody loves an interesting story… but I realized I am not a gossiper.”

“I also grew up around a lot of people who also kinda talked trash about people. And I was like ‘I do not want to be around that nor be that person,’ so it also made me like gravitate towards people that didn’t do that.”

Admitting that like any human she has her moments of being “tired or exhausted,” and seeming a  “a little curt” or “short-tempered,” Drew implored that when “in those moments… 99.9% of the time I never think I’m right for being that way.”

“I really hold myself so critically accountable… and so much of my adult life is becoming about the mastery of reaction.”

For all that and more including, stories of Drew starting out as a child actor, learning self-forgiveness for the sake of personal growth. As well as how prioritizing ourselves means taking care of our physical and mental well-being, setting boundaries, and making time for our own needs and wants —  listen to the entire conversation in the episode above.
