Certain Cleveland City Council members have brought forth a piece of emergency legislation looking to be passed this upcoming Monday.
This balloon bill would prohibit the outdoor release of large numbers of balloons here in Cleveland.
Cleanup surveys found more than 18,000 balloons and balloon-like material were recovered from Lake Erie beaches between 2016 and 2018 and cause problems such as power outages.
If 2/3 majority vote is achieved, the bill will be put into effect immediately.
