PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Super Bowl LVII ended with a victory for Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce ... and a loss for Eagles center Jason Kelce. Winning or losing a Super Bowl is certainly an emotional moment. But for the Kelce brothers, it was all about their parents.

In a promo for the latest episode of Jason and Travis Kelce's weekly New Heights podcast, the brothers get choked up talking about how their mom, Donna, became a superstar during Super Bowl (also known as “Kelce Bowl”) week.

“The moment I saw Mom is when I got really emotional because, man, it was so awesome,” Jason says. “She was on top of the world for a week.”

Super Bowl LVII was the first time siblings played against each other in the game, which led to national attention for their parents.

After the game, the Kelce brothers hugged on the field. And Jason smiled — even in defeat.

Then, Jason says, he ran into his mother, and they both got emotional — as picked up by an NFL Films microphone.

“She was a heavyweight champ, man,” Travis says on the podcast. “She was on top of it, and she shined the whole time, man.”

Jason says it was cool that she got to celebrate this moment with her sons.

“Just so happy for her — and so happy that she got her moment. Dad got his. So, yeah — ironically, you lose the Super Bowl and you’re crying after the game, and they’re not tears of sadness. They’re tears of joy.”
