'Morning Quickie': The "Seinfeld Bill", and the Rock Hall nominees

What's trending

New Jersey lawmakers are considering a new bill targeting telemarketers inspired by the famous TV sitcom "Seinfeld."

The legislation would require telemarketers to identify themselves and what they are selling within the first 30 seconds of the call.

The bill's sponsor nicknamed it the "Seinfeld Bill" because of a famous scene.

Telemarketers would also be banned from making unsolicited calls between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m.

The bill has already passed the Senate Commerce Committee.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will be announcing the nominees for its Class of 2023 today at 8am. Will this be the year that they finally acknowledge some of the arguably overlooked acts from the '60s, '70s and '80s? Or, will they pluck more from the 90’s like they’ve done recently?

That list includes, whether you agree or not:

Jethro Tull

Styx

REO Speedwagon

Eddie Money

Bryan Adams

Foreigner

Kansas

Grand Funk Railroad

Ozzy Osbourne

'90s acts:

To be eligible for nomination, an individual artist or band must have released its first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination.

The Class of 2023 will be announced in May along with where and when the ceremony will be held.
