As we step into the second half of 2020, let's take a look at the best selling albums of the year. All data was pulled from the BuzzAngle Music chart, which is published by HITS Daily Double.
10.Mac Miller 'Circles' - 109,000 units
The posthumous record from the late Mac Miller features material the late rapper was working on until his death in September 2018. The record debuted at number three on the Billboard charts.
9.Frozen 2 Soundtrack - 135,000 units
The soundtrack for the sequel to Disney's hit movie Frozen has been a hit with the song "Into the Unknown" receiving Academy Awards and Golden Globe nominations.
8.Harry Styles 'Fine Line' - 160,000 units
The momentum from the release of Styles' second studio album at the end of 2019 has carried over to 2020 selling 160,000 copies.
7.Justin Bieber 'Changes' - 186,000 units
Bieber's first album in five years has been a success so far debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. He also became the youngest solo artist to have seven US number one solo albums by the age of 25.
6.Billie Eilish 'When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?' - 194,000 units
The massive success of Eilish's debut record continues on into 2020 as it has sold 194,000 units in 2020. It was one of the best-selling albums of 2019 and looks prime to be on the 2020 year-end list as well.
5.Eminem 'Music To Be Murdered By' - 225,000 units
Who says surprise albums can't be successful? With no prior announcement, Eminem released his eleventh studio album in January becoming an instant hit.
4.Lady Gaga 'Chromatica' - 258,000 units
Gaga's sixth studio record immediately hit the top of the charts upon release and is poised to become one of the year's best selling albums.
3.Halsey 'Manic' - 265,000 units
Halsey's third album represented her biggest opening week to date in her career. The genre-bending record features numerous collaborations.
2.The Weeknd 'After Hours' - 404,000 units
The second best selling album on this list was released in late March so it should be no surprise if The Weeknd's After Hours ends up in the top spot at the end of the year.
1.BTS 'Map of the Soul: 7' - 546,000 units
2020 has been the year of BTS as their album Map of the Soul: 7 has sold over half a million copies since it was released in February.
