HBCU Made Blood Drive

Patients with sickle cell disease may face severe pain, organ damage and even stroke − but blood transfusions can make a lifesaving difference, especially those that are closely matched to the patient’s blood type. Blood donors who are Black can play a critical role in the treatment of those with sickle cell – most of whom are of African descent. Join WPGC and roll up a sleeve to give blood at Howard University on Monday, Sept. 28 between 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Armour J. Blackburn Center on campus and help ensure blood products are available before a sickle cell crisis strikes.
