5K Run
We kick off the morning at 8 AM with the Juneteenth 5K, a meaningful run through the historic Black neighborhood of Scotland, passing landmarks like the 100-year-old Scotland AME Zion Church on Seven Locks Road.
Wellness and Social Action Pavilion
After crossing the finish line, don’t let the energy fade—head over to the Wellness and Social Action Pavilion at Cabin John Village (9 AM – 1 PM)! Explore a vibrant showcase of organizations, nonprofits, and community groups dedicated to uplifting and empowering our community. Connect with passionate leaders, discover valuable resources, and be inspired by the impactful initiatives shaping our future. Join us for a morning of learning, networking, and celebration!

Black History 101 Mobile Museum with Dr. Khalid El-Hakim
Experience history like never before through the Black History 101 Mobile Museum held at the Scotland A.M.E. Zion Church from 10 AM — 3PM. Explore rare artifacts, historic documents, photographs, and powerful stories that highlight the richness, resilience, and contributions of Black people throughout history. This interactive, traveling museum brings history to life for visitors of all ages, creating opportunities to learn, reflect, and connect with the past in meaningful ways. All ages are welcome.

Family Carnival
For our youngest adventurers, the Family Carnival at Cabin John Park (11 AM – 5 PM) is a day full of excitement, creativity, and unforgettable memories! Enjoy rides, games, live performances, and hands-on activities the whole family will love. Don’t miss the Juneteenth Parade at 2:00 PM, featuring marching bands, dancers, performers, and colorful floats celebrating freedom, culture, and community.

Clarence “Pint” Isreal Baseball Classic and Fireworks Show
Step back in time and honor a cherished local tradition at the Clarence “Pint” Isreal Juneteenth Classic beginning at 6 PM, featuring the Gaithersburg Giants and the Bethesda Big Train. This commemorative game pays tribute to Clarence “Pint” Isreal, Montgomery County’s greatest Negro Leagues star and a dedicated mentor to local youth.
As the game winds down, the evening will culminate in a breathtaking fireworks display at 9 PM, lighting up the sky with a vibrant celebration you won’t want to miss.
