Poet Taylor is a multi-platform media storyteller, cultural curator, fur momma and joy dealer whose voice and presence are deeply rooted in purpose and power. Her journey began with a radio internship contest win in her hometown of Baltimore and has evolved into a dynamic career spanning executive producing, co-hosting, and serving as a Lifestyle Host & contributor for FOX 5’s Good Day DC, NBC 4, DCW 50, and the nationally syndicated Dish Nation.
The DMV has watched one of their own grow up on the mic—from her start in overnights to weekend shifts, and now commanding the airwaves with Midday Shenanigans on WPGC 95.5. The show is a raw and real reflection of life—highlighting the good, the bad, the ugly, and the beautifully complicated, that we are all experiencing.
Raised between the DC and Maryland foster care systems, Poet is committed to amplifying stories of resilience and creating safe, affirming spaces for the “cuzzins.” She speaks regularly on topics like self-worth, service, and healing—and uses every platform she touches to spark conversation and build community.
Off the mic, Poet is a walking love letter to service. She’s the visionary behind dopeness like the Hidden Sheros Awards, the Suited & Booted Prom Experience, a weekly #BuyBlackSpotlight and her annual Bits of Joy and Toys event at Martha’s Table now in its 9th year have become staples for hundreds of families across the region - all designed to uplift and empower. She proudly serves on the Board of Directors for Safe Shores DC, while also serving as a Community Ambassador for The Trigger Project, CFSA, Bullying Is Not Dope and Martha’s Table, and also lends her talents to Link Strategic Partners, a global communications and strategy firm as aCommunity Engagement Coordinator.
A recent recipient of the GWAP DC Community Change Agent Award and the Martha’s Table Community Champion Award, Poet continues to show up with love, laughter, and purpose—reminding us all that when The Village is activated, anything and absolutely everything is possible.
