Have a day, Emmanuel Sanders, and pick up half a mill while you’re at it!

Sanders entered Sunday’s Saints season finale at Carolina with 52 catches, needing just eight to reach an incentive clause that would pay him $500,000 for having 60 receptions in 2020.

He needed just three quarters to do it, as on a 3rd-and-5 at the Carolina 38 with 2:43 to go in the third, Sanders snagged a nine-yard pass from Drew Brees for his eighth catch if the day – and subsequently celebrated as if it were a touchdown grab to win the Super Bowl:

Sanders actually did have a TD grab earlier in the game, and that, too, was a big one: the score was the 1,087th broadcast by the NFL’s RedZone channel this season, setting a new single-season record.

As it comes to No. 60, though, the grab represents a huge chunk of change for Sanders, whose two-year, $24 million deal with the Saints guarantees him $10 million – but that $500K ends up being more than 10 percent of his actual 2020 salary, as he received just a $2 million signing bonus and $2 million base salary for this season.

Sanders finished the day with nine grabs for 63 yards and a touchdown, giving him a 61-726-5 line for the year.
