Susan Linker from Our Companions Animal Rescue joins Mike and Mary with pets looking to be adopted! Let's meet them!
Sophie is a female Black Syrian Hamster that comes to us from a hamster rescue in Maine. The rescue heard about our grand opening of Suzanne’s Place, our first small animal cottage, and contacted us seeking assistance with placing seven hamsters. We welcomed a group of eight hamsters from the rescue in July of 2024, when Sophie was about five months old.
During her time with us, we learned Sophie is quite the burrowing queen! She loves to burrow in her habitat, and enjoys digging her in sand baths as well! She’s quite social, will happily be picked up and loves walking around your lap. Free roam time is very important to Sophie since she’s quite an explorer! She also appreciates the calm, quiet atmosphere at our Sanctuary. To learn more about this little darling, please contact Our Companions at 860-242-9999 or email Helpline@OurCompanions.org

Wiley (aka Wiley Coyote) is a 1 ½ year old terrier/whippet mix. He loves to run, loves to sniff new smells, and loves a long hiking session. To watch him walk is a thing of beauty - he develops his prance and smiles as he walks! Can things get any cuter? He likes to play with other dogs and enjoys daycare – although none of the dogs can catch up to him when he runs! Wiley is quick as lighting and is a very fast learner too. His favorite toy is his stuffed avocado. It is with him much of the time and he has never chosen to un-stuff it. Wiley is searching for an alternative home because he does not understand the addition of a baby in his current house. He loves his mom and is reluctant to share. His new home would be one where he is with adults or teens, he could thrive in most homes but the big thing is that he needs to have enough space to do his favorite thing - run! While he knows the basics, a positive training class would be awesome for him, not only to help him bond with his new people but also to learn new things! We can help with that!
