The Hartford Saengerbund presents “Sommerfest” Saturday from 2-8pm at its club, 719 North Mountain Road in Newington. The duo Scha Musi will perform live German and American music. Bratwurst and sauerkraut highlight the menu and there will be imported German beer and other beverages for sale, as well as homemade cakes and brownies. You are invited to the 4th annual MOVE! With the Urban League of Greater Hartford event this Saturday hosted by the Hartford Marathon Foundation (HMF) and the Urban League of Greater Hartford.  It’s a 5K race and Movement Festival in historic Keney Park, near the park’s Woodland Street entrance, off of Greenfield Street in Hartford.  The event kicks off at 9am with the 5K race and a 1-mile run/walk. At 10:15am the free HMF FitKids fun run takes place, followed by the awards presentation.  Between 9am and 1pm, the public can enjoy a free Movement Festival with live entertainment, fresh produce distribution, food, health information, fitness activities, arts & crafts, community resources, and music by DJ Sammie Soca. As part of the Festival, people can sign up a team or join a team and compete in the Urban League Young Professionals YP Games. Adults are $25 for 5K or the 1-Mile – includes a tee shirt.  Ages 13 through 21: $15 for 5K or the 1-Mile – includes a tee shirt.  Ages 12 and under: Free for 1-Mile and HMF FitKids Fun Run – tee shirts are available for purchase. Free Admission for all ages to the 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Movement Festival.

Spooky Popcorn is a free outdoor horror movie festival held annually in downtown Hartford.  Horror movie fans enjoy outdoor showings on Constitution Plaza on Saturday evenings from July through August and are encouraged to bring snacks, blankets, and chairs.  These events are free! This Saturday it’s The Conjuring at 8pm.
