Calling All Princesses!  You’re invited to a Sweet Sixteen!  It is Princess Fiona's birthday Saturday, rain date Sunday March 26th.   Fiona is the great grand-daughter of Triple Crown Winner Secretariat.  She is celebrating her 16th birthday and 10th year at the rescue.   The party begins at 10 am at H.O.R.S.E. of CT at 43 Wilbur Road in Washington.   We will have farm tours, meet and greet the herd, we host a bake sale and tack sale, sell HOC merchandise  and have raffles to benefit the rescue. We will be serving birthday cake at noon, it's a Sweet Sixteen Cake decorated with purple roses in honor of our Princess Horse! A local chocolate shop custom made a 10 lb solid horse for raffle!  It was made by Thorncrest Chocolates in Goshen. He has a white chocolate mane and tail and a dark chocolate saddle.

There is a meeting at the Avon library on Saturday morning, for people interested in creating a new community theater in town. The meeting starts at 10:30 a.m. in the library's community room, and will share concepts, solicit ideas and suggestions, and seek volunteers skilled in everything from nonprofits to theater production. All are welcome--even if you're just interested in seeing what this community-based nonprofit effort is all about.
