Holy Disciples Parish hosts its Christmas Bazaar Saturday from 9am to 3pm at the St. Mary Magdalen School gymnasium at 140 Buckingham St. Oakville.  Featured are homemade baked goods and over 40 themed gift baskets plus craft vendors offering their wares. Take a chance on the many raffle items, including a cash prize drawing and a gift card / lottery ticket Christmas tree, plus stop at Granny’s Attic for bargains galore. Santa will visit from 9 until 11 and Rudolph’s Café will offer breakfast and lunch treats.

Admission is free, with entrance at the rear of the school gym building which is also handicap accessible.  The bazaar proceeds will benefit the parish, comprised of the community’s St. Mary Magdalen and St.
John the Evangelist churches.

“Eight Days a Week: An Illustrated Record of Rock ‘n’ Roll,” an exhibition of rock music memorabilia, is now on display in Jorgensen Gallery at Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts on the UConn Storrs campus throughout Jorgensen’s fall season of events.  This unique exhibition of rock music memorabilia with more than 100 items, including more than 40 photos of members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that were taken by Connecticut photographer Joseph Sia, including his famous image of Jimi Hendrix at Woolsey Hall in New Haven, known as “The Shadow.”  www.jorgensen.uconn.edu
