The Big E continues now through October 2 at the Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield! General hours are 8am to 10pm daily (Avenue of the States and Storrowton Village close an hour sooner. Midway open till 11pm on weekends) Parking on site is CASH only $10.  Prices at the gate are $15 Adult, $10 children 6-12 and Free for 5 and under.  There is a Military Appreciation Day, Senior Days and of course State Days too.  Check out the 600lb Cabot Creamery Cooperative Butter Sculpture find the Speakeasy and shop for crafts, gadgets, gifts and more!

White Memorial Conservation Center’s annual celebration of Mother Nature is a must for folks of all ages. This super special 40th edition is chock full of the greatest presenters! Brian Bradley will be here with his beautiful free-flying hawks and falcons. Riverside Reptiles’ Brian Kleinman is perhaps the greatest mind in reptiles in our state. Come visit the many friends he’ll be bringing along. Visit with our native turtles…The Turtle’s Back is…er…back! Learn all about North America’s only marsupial with Ferncroft Wildlife Rescue and their Opossum Ambassadors! Meet a Bald Eagle, Golden Eagle, and more with Horizon Wings Raptor Rehabilitation and Education Center! Gerri Griswold, The Bat Lady returns with Betty the Big Brown Bat! The Stamford Museum and Nature Center’s Lisa Monacelli presents EDIBLE INSECTS! Music will be provided by Robert Messore and Wry Bred! The day is filled with live animals, guided nature walks, information booths, horse drawn wagon rides, and yummy food! The PIE SALE is back! Shop until you drop at the artisan market Lots of nature crafts for the kiddies too! Feast like a king, shop like a queen, and laugh like a fool. Leave your worries behind when you step through the gates of the 24th annual Connecticut Renaissance Faire at the Lebanon Fairgrounds, 122 Mark Rd. This enchanted recreation of a 16th-century harvest festival will take you back to the days of yore, where you'll see jousting, live-flight birds of prey, comedy, magic, and so much more. Good, clean wholesome fun is what you’ll find at the 102nd Annual Durham Fair Friday and Saturday 9am to 10pm and Sunday 9am to 6pm!  Admission is $15 Adult, $10 Seniors 62+, Active Military and Children 11 and under are FREE!

The Klingberg 30th Anniversary Cars & Coffee & Kids at Klingberg Family Centers, 370 Linwood Street, New Britain, Saturday 8am -11am. For all antique and classic cars, no cutoff year. Also including supercars past and present. Wayne Carini, Grand Marshal. Trophies will be awarded throughout the event. Coffee and breakfast items will be offered while supply lasts. The 42nd Annual Simsbury Fly-In Car Show and Food Truck Festival features 700+ airplanes and cars and lots of family activities, plus a major food truck festival. Over 150 businesses on display. Who Doesn't love a great Flea Market?  Mansfield Marketplace Sunday Flea Market runs every Sunday 8am to 2pm through November 20th at the Mansfield Drive-In Theater, 228 Stafford Rd, Mansfield Center.  $2 per shopper and $2 per car for flea market parking.  Rain or shine.  Vendors and buyers alike are welcome to thrift, treasure hunt, and bargain!  There is a large indoor market as well as up to 300+ vendors outside all selling new and used items, including plants, produce, clothing, crafts, jewelry, tools, collectibles, toys and more. If you are a vendor interested in reserving by the month, please call (860) 456-2578. Or, if you want to set up at the flea market for just one day, show up any Sunday as early as 7am.

Ring in the fall this Saturday with the Small State Great Beer Festival at Trinity Health Stadium in Hartford (Home of the Hartford Athletic!) Drink beer from 45 of Connecticut's best craft breweries and chow down on food from a wide variety of food trucks. Plus, rock out to some live music from the Funky Dawgs Brass Band and the Sonia Sol Experience! Sessions run from 1-4 and 6-9pm!

Lyman Orchards in Middlefield is the place for a Benjamin Franklin Themed CORN MAZE Regular Hours are 1-5:30pm Monday-Friday and 10am-5:30pm on Weekends and Holiday. Last maze entry is 5:30pm. Admission is $10 and runs through November 6th. You may also enjoy Suds and Stalks on select Friday afternoons!   Sud’s is a special beer tasting and corn maze experience! Your $35 ticket including six beer samples from local breweries and admission to explore Lyman’s massive 4-acre corn maze.  The corn maze will close early for a paid Suds & Stalks Beer Tasting event on the following Fridays: September 30, 3:30pm; October 14, 3:30pm; and October 28, 3pm.

Six Flags New England begins Fright Fest this weekend  Lake Compounce is open but begins their Phantom Fall Fest Halloween fun next weekend.
