The Railroad Museum of New England is pleased to announce its “Celebrate 30” events. A special train will be leaving Thomaston Station Saturday at 12:00 PM and Sunday at 10am and 1pm. It will run south to Highland Junction in Waterbury. The train will consist of passenger cars built in the 1920s pulled by newly repainted No. 2798, a General Electric model U23B diesel locomotive built in 1977 for Conrail, which later ran on the Providence &. Worcester Railroad. It was recently painted in a special red, white, and blue paint scheme honoring America’s 250th Anniversary. Included will be a “run-by” for photographers. Tickets are $50.00.
