·Last week, the University of Connecticut received a $2 million, five year grant from the federal government to operate an advanced manufacturing center focused on assisting minority-owned businesses. The grant was awarded by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency and was only one of four grants awarded nationally.
