ENFIELD, Conn. (AP) — Two men wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in Vermont have been caught in Connecticut.

Enfield police say 18-year-old Brandon Sanders was located in a vehicle traveling north on Interstate 91 on Wednesday, and 32-year-old Johnny Ford was located in a motel. Ford was taken into custody peacefully at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday after a two-hour standoff.

Crack cocaine along with more than $17,000 in cash was found in the motel room.

Both men were wanted in connection with a shooting in Burlington, Vermont on Tuesday that left 23-year-old Benzell Hampton dead and another man injured.

Sanders and Ford were each held on $1 million bond in Connecticut as fugitives. Their cases were not listed in online court records and it could not be determined if they have lawyers.
