NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTIC) – New London Police have made an arrest in a shooting incident last month occurring on Walden Avenue.
On Saturday, July 13th, police responded to reports of a person shot on Walden Avenue where a victim was located semiconscious on a nearby sidewalk.
The victim was described as an adult male and is still recovering from gunshot wounds at an area hospital.
The New London Police Department’s Investigative Services Division investigated and identified 32-year old Christopher Whitley as a suspect in the shooting.
An arrest warrant was issued for Whitley and Thursday morning, August 1st, he was arrested and taken into custody without incident. Arresting officers included members of the New London Police Department, West Haven Police, Connecticut Parole and Connecticut Probation.
Whitley is being held on a $1,000,000 bond and was charged with Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm, Criminal Attempt/Murder and Assault 1st Degree.
