WATERBURY, Conn. (WTIC) - As the weather warms, Waterbury police are working to keep all-terrain vehicles off the streets and city property.
Lieutenant David Silverio says the Waterbury Police Department has set up an ATV tip line, to receive reports and complaints about ATVs and other recreational vehicles being used illegally on public roads.
"Some of the time, they're honestly just trying to get to a block of woods to use them [ATVs] in an appropriate place," Silverio said. "But they can't be going down our city roads and our sidewalks. That's the biggest problem and we can't be having them tearing up our city property."
State law requires ATVs to be registered, unless they're used on property owned or leased by the vehicle's owner.
