MANCHESTER, Conn. (WTIC) - A Worcester, Massachusetts man is under arrest, accused of threatening a comedian at the Funny Bone Comedy Club at the Shops at Buckland Hills in Manchester.
Investigators say the incident happened Friday night, when New York-based comedian Aries Spears, who has also appeared in films including Malcolm X and Jerry Maguire, was performing at the club. Spears was in the middle of his set when 34-year-old Michael Perrone of Worcester began heckling him.
The two got into a verbal dispute, and after a back and forth, Michael Perrone left the venue according to officers. As he was leaving, he allegedly pulled out a folding knife and said he'd be waiting for Spears after the show.
Officers ultimately made contact with Michael Perrone and later found what they believe to be his knife in a planter outside the club. Perrone was taken into custody and faces charges of threatening, breach of peace, and tampering.
