71-year-old Woman Hit, Killed By SUV During Hartford Shootout

(WTIC-AM) -- A 71-year-old woman was struck and killed by a vehicle during a shoot out this afternoon in Hartford's North End.

Police say two groups of people were shooting at each other near the intersection of Garden Street and Westland Street. 

One group was in an SUV, which was drove in reverse, and struck the woman. 

An officer was nearby and saw part of the gun battle. 

He remained at the scene of the crash to help the woman, while some of the people involved fled. 

Officers searched the area, and found a 17-year-old who had been shot, but is expected to survive. 

Police also found a 16-year-old who may have been involved in the incident. 

The Kia SUV involved in the fatal crash had been reported stolen from Manchester. 

Police say they have much of the incident on video.
