WTIC 1080 News - Groton, Ct. - A body was recovered around 6:30 Saturday evening from the Thames River near Groton.
Boaters spotted the body floating, in thick fog, near the Gold Star Memorial Bridge.
The body, which appears to have been in the water for some time was taken to the KE Streeter boat launch in Groton. The Town of Groton Marine Unit and the Coast Guard aided Groton police in recovering the body. The gender of the unidentified body not released.
A woman who was fishing off the KE Streeter launch said she and others saw something floating in the water but couldn’t tell what it was.
