(WTIC-AM) -- A brief ceremony was held today at the Bradley Air National Guard Base, to honor emergency response personel from the guard, who helped rescue the victims, when a B-17 crashed almost a month ago.

The World War Two era bomber hit a de-icing shed at Bradley International Aiport, killing seven people.

"We will never forget that day," Governor Ned Lamont said. "We owed some folks here a debt of gratitude.  A lot of people don't know what happened.  These are state employees. These are the guard.  These are the people who stand up, put themselves at risk and saved lives that day."

Some of the victims of the crash are still in the hospital, recovering from burns and other injuries.
