(Hartford, Conn./WTIC) - The state Department of Public Health is reporting nine deaths to influenza for the week ending last Saturday, February 15.
That brings to 45, the number of residents who have succumbed to the flu so far this season. That number includes one child death reported earlier this month.
DPH says flu continues to be widespread across Connecticut.
There were 204 hospitalizations for flu this past week for a total of 1,909 for the season to date.
According to DPH, flu-like illness and visits to hospital emergency departments were down for the period.
The department says there have been 9,210 positive flu tests reported since the season began in mid-August.
