(Hartford, Conn./WTIC) - The state Department of Public Health says a flaw in one of its testing systems for COVID-19 led to false positive results.

DPH says the flaw resulted in 90 false positives.

A total of 144 people were tested on that system during the period from June 15 through July 17.

The department says it has notified the health care facilities where the tests were admininstered.

DPH says it is still investigiating what caused the false positives.

Officials say the majority of those who had false positive results are residents of nursing homes.
