HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Hartford Police are investigating the City's fourth homicide of 2019, as well as one other shooting.
Around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Hartford Hospital notified Police that they were treating a man with at least one gunshot wound. The unidentified victim later succombed to his injuries.
Hartford Police were able to determine the shooting happened in the area of 249 New Britain Avenue. Police discovered a substantial amount of marijuana at the scene of the shooting.
About 20 minutes after the homicide investigation began, a Hartford Police Officer found a man in distress in the area of Atwood Street and Ashley Street.
The man was taken to Saint Francis Hospital for a single gunshot wound to the hip. The victim is currently in serious condition.
Police believe the homicide was a drug-related incident.
It is unclear, at this time, if the two incidents are related.
