(Hartford, Conn./WTIC) - Governor Lamont delivered his state of the state address to a joint session of the legislature today.
Some of the areas on which he touched: the "elephant in the room", he called it; the plan to upgrade the transportatoin infrastructure that's been in limbo--renewing a call for tolls in a dozen locations that need the most work.
He also proposed a tax on vaping products while, at the same time, calling on lawmakers to pass a measure allowing recreational marijuana.
Lamont is also calling on funding for Planned Parenthood to, in part, make up for losses in funding through cuts by the trump administration.
The governor also wants a measure that would see sports and internet betting become law in the state.
Lawmakers will have a short time to get everything done in an election year: the session runs through May 6.
