(Hartford, Conn./WTIC) - Police in Hartford are investigating the city's 9th homicide of 2020.
Officers were dispatched to the area of 416 Franklin Avenue around 1:30 a.m.
That's where they found 36-year-old Efrain Nieves suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was rushed to Hartford Hospital but later died from his injuries.
Detectives say Nieves was targeted and the shooting appears to have been the result of a narcotics transaction.
