
WTIC 1080 NEWS - On Sunday, September 8th 2019, at approximately 12:37 PM, officers responded to the People’s United Bank located inside Stop & Shop, 286 Broad St., for a report of a robbery.
The suspect was reported to have shown a note and taken money from the teller. The suspect was a white male wearing a dark sweatshirt, dark sweatpants and blue and white sneakers. It is believed he was wearing a blonde wig at the time this robbery was committed. Based on surveillance footage, the suspect fled the area on foot east toward Broad St.
After an extensive investigation conducted by Detective James Moore and the Manchester Police Department Investigative Services Section, the identity of the suspect was developed and an arrest warrant was obtained for Frederick Johansen, a 34 year old male out of Vernon, CT.On Saturday, 9/14/2019, at approximately 7:30am, Manchester Police Department Detectives located Johansen on West Main St. in Vernon, CT. Johansen was taken into custody without incident.
Pursuant to the warrant, Johansen was charged with: Robbery in the Third Degree and Larceny in the Third Degree. Johansen is currently being held on $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on September 26th.
