HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - The Greater Hartford Branch of the NAACP is taking issue with the police body camera footage released by prosecutors, of last Friday's fatal shooting of a suspect by a Hartford detective. The civil rights group says it's "deeply disturbed" by the edited footage released by Tolland State's Attorney Matthew Gedansky, of 41-year-old Alphonso Zaporta's final moments. The Windsor man was fatally shot on an Interstate 84 ramp, after police say he attacked officers, and grabbed one cop's gun.Authorities have said the video, from three body cameras, was edited out of respect for Zaporta's family. The NAACP is also upset that it was excluded from a private viewing of the videos. Branch president Maxien Robinson-Lewin is seeking a meeting with Mayor Luke Bronin, Interim Police Chief Jason Thody, and State's Attorney gedansky.
