
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - New Haven Police responded to two separate reports of gunshot victims in the city Wednesday.
Around 9 p.m. Wednesday, city patrol officers located a gunshot victim at the intersection of Read Street and Newhall Street after locating gunfire evidence on Shepard Street, according to police.
Police say an 18-year-old New Haven man was bleeding heavily from gunshot wounds to his legs.
An ambulance transported the man to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was initially listed in stable condition, police say.
Earlier that same day, officers responded to a report of gunfire and a gunshot victim at around 4 p.m.
Police say they found a 17-year-old female in her Bouchet Lane residence with a wound to the arm.
According to police, the victim told officers she was in a bedroom when a bullet came through the wall and struck her.
Officials say she suffered a non-life threatening graze wound to her arm and was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital. She has since been discharged from the hospital.
Police say they found evidence of gunfire in the Eastern Street roadway.
