BRISTOL, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Bristol police say nearly half of the liquor and convenience stores visited as part of an alcohol compliance check Tuesday, failed.Underage volunteers were able to purchase alcohol at 13 of 28 stores, according to police.Those establishments now face the potential of fines and other penalties. Sanctions will be determined by the state.The compliance checks, carried out by police and liquor control agents, along with the underage volunteers, were made possible from a grant secured by the Best-4-Bristol Coalition.
