(PLAINFIELD,Conn/WTIC) - Plainfield Police responded to a home at 95 Charlotte Drive in the Wauregan section of town shortly after 6:30 Monday evening after receiving a phone call in which a male caller said he had just murdered his mother and that he was going to "shoot the police" if they approached.
While responding, Plainfield Police were in contact with a State Police dispatcher from Troop D in Danielson who said they had received a similar call, which appeared to be a "swatting"prank call.
When officers arrived at the home they advised neighbors to go back inside their homes .Officers then approached the residence and made contact with the home owner, who appeared to be surprised. He said he was there alone and allowed officers to search the home.It was later confirmed to be a prank call.
