TORRINGTON, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Nine middle school students are okay after their school bus hit a tree and a utility pole after it swerved to avoid a deer Tuesday morning in Torrington, said police.
The bus crashed on Marshall Lake Road around 7:15 a.m., said police. The Torrington Middle School students were transferred to another bus and were back on their way to school within 20 minutes, said police.
The driver of the bus complained of a minor leg injury, said authorities.
Police say the road could be closed into the early afternoon between Weigold Road and Mountain Road, as crews make repairs to the pole.
