(Farmington, Conn./WTIC) - Thousands of Eversource customers are without power this afternoon.
After approaching nearly 20,000 outages around 1 p.m., the number had dwindled to around 7,000 a half hour later.
They were primarily in Avon, Farmington, and West Hartford.
Eversource says the outages were caused by a problem at substation in Farmington. The utility said most customers should be back online by 2 p.m.
