WATERBURY, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Fifth-District Representative Jahana Hayes says her husband Milford Hayes, a Waterbury police detective, was exposed to coronavirus at work and has tested positive.
He seems to be healthy and is asymptomatic, according to Rep. Hayes, who says she and her family will be quarantining at home for two weeks, and self-monitoring for symptoms. Hayes reports she has tested negative for COVID-19.
Hayes says she'll be working remotely, as Congress crafts the next coronavirus relief package.
While some are clamoring to get back to Washington to resume in-person business, Hayes cautions, there's a real danger in returning to Capitol Hill too early without appropriation precautions.
