HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC) - Hartford Police have made an arrest involving animal cruelty after responding to reports of a roaming goat chasing pedestrians.
Officers were dispatched to the lower Blue Hills Avenue area where they discovered where the goat came from. They also discovered over a dozen other goats, roosters and chickens in a small confined area in the rear of 31 Blue Hills Avenue.
The animals were located in filthy conditions and most were suffering from injury and/or malnourishment. Animal control officers from across the state responded to assist in relocating the animals to a proper farm in western Connecticut.
Police found the person responsible for the animals and arrested 41-year old Kenya Miller on 25 counts of Cruelty to Animals.
In total, 27 animals were seized to be relocated and cared for including 16 goats, eight roosters, two ducks and one hen.
