Shelton, Conn. (WTIC) - Shelton Police have arrested 18-year old Alexander Liebhart on the charges of Sexual Assault (2nd Degree) and Risk of Injury to a Child.
Liebhart, of Shelton, was arrested after the Shelton Detective Bureau received a complaint from a 14-year old girl. The 14-year old victim claimed she was sexually assaulted by a man near the Riverwalk on Canal Street in Shelton.
In the incident, which allegedly took place in August of 2018, the victim claimed she did not know the man well and did not know his real name. The victim claimed the man got her intoxicated then assaulted her.
The Shelton Police Department's Youth Officer conducted a thorough investigation and later identified Leibhart. An arrest warrant was obtained and he was held on a $75,000 bond.
Following his arrest, Liebhart was arraigned in Derby Superior Court Wednesday morning.
