
SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (WTIC) - South Windsor police will be patrolling the area around Main Street and the Connecticut River after incidents of ATV operators damaging crops.Illegal ATV riding has always been a problem in the area, but police say it has now escalated to include riders intentionally damaging crops.Police officers will be using all-wheel drive vehicles, mountain bikes and their utility vehicle to investigate. Video surveillance will also be set up to capture images of the riders and their vehicles, according to police.Violators may be subject to fines and arrest. Anyone who sees the illegal use of ATV's or trespassing in the Main Street or Vibert Road area is asked to contact the South Windsor Police Department Dispatch at (860) 644-2551.
