HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut state parks are moving to reduce visitor capacity during the coronavirus pandemic.
Many state parks and forests have been jammed with people trying to do something outside of their homes. Now, the state is moving to bar walk-in visitors at parks, and limit parking capacity at certain locations. Officials warn, those who enter parks after they have reached capacity risk fines and even arrest.
In addition, anyone who violates the special guidelines to encourage social distancing will be evicted from all state parks and lands for 30 days, warned officials.
Environmental officials are also imposing changes to stop picnicking at state parks.
