(HARTFORD,Conn./WTIC Radio) - A man charged with attempted murder and kidnapping in a violent domestic assault on Natick Street in Hartford early New Year's morning has been extradited from New York.23 year old Edgar Maldanado is accused of stabbing a woman more than 30 times and abducting her 6 year old son, who was found unharmed in Worcester , Massachusetts about 3 and a half hours later.
The victim underwent emergency surgery at Hartford Hospital following the stabbing .She has since been discharged from the hospital and is staying at an undisclosed location.
Members of the Hartford Police Fugitive Task Force traveled to New York Tuesday to take custody of Maldanado.He is being held on a $700,000 court set bond.
Maldanado is scheduled to be arraigned in Hartford Superior Court Wednesday.
