TRUMBULL, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - A tow truck driver is dead after state police say he was struck by a car while helping another motorist on the side of the Merritt Parkway in Trumbull Wednesday afternoon.
Corey Iodice, 58, of Florida, was loading the vehicle onto his flatbed, when police say the BMW M3 lost control for an unknown reason and slammed into the disabled car, another vehicle that had stopped, and went up the bed of the tow truck and hit him.
The crash occurred shortly after 4:30 p.m., on the southbound side of the parkway, near Exit 48. Troopers continue to investigate.
