The name was announced Monday, as the tribes lobby state lawmakers to change the authorizing legislation for the casino, to drop the requirement that the project win approval from the U.S. Department of the Interior.
Federal officials have failed to publish the revised revenue-sharing agreement between the state and the Mashantucket Pequot tribe, causing at the very least a delay. The tribes claim the casino project would create $75 million in annual tax revenue and 5,000 direct and indirect jobs from construction through grand opening.
