(Hamden, Conn./WTIC) - Hamden police are investigating a reported carjacking in a shopping plaza parking lot this morning.
Officers say a 74-year-old man employed at ShopRite in the Hamden Plaza shopping center was sitting in his car around 6:00 a.m. just prior to the start of his shift.
That's when police say a man dressed in a red shirt wearing a mask and a black skull cap ordered him out of the car while a second suspect entered the vehicle.
The suspects were seen headed southbound in Dixwell Avenue.
Later, Hamden officers were notified by New Haven Police that the suspects had crashed the vehicle at Royden Road and Goffe Terrace, fleeing the scene on foot.
There were no reported injuries in the carjacking.
