HARTFORD, Conn (WTIC Radio)_ The City of Hartford says there are a number of warming centers open in the city from those who are struggling with bitter cold temperatures, both above and below zero degrees, from Wednesday 1/30/2019 to Sunday 2/3/2019.
This is the length of the Cold Weather Protocol put into place at noon on Wednesday by Governor Ned Lamont. The protocol says that anyone in need of shelter in Connecticut should call 2-1-1.
Daytime Warming Centers:
• Hartford Public Library, Downtown Branch, at 500 Main Street: Wednesday - Thursday 9:30 a.m to 8 p.m.; and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Note: The Libray is subject to delays and closures.
• South End Wellness Center, 830 Maple Ave: Wednesday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
• North End Senior Center, 80 Coventry St: Wednesday – Friday 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
• Parkville Senior Center, 11 New Park Ave: Wednesday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
• Hispanic Health Council, 175 Main St: Wednesday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
• Hispanic Senior Center, 45 Wadsworth St: Wednesday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Overnight Warming Center:
There will be only one overnight warming center. The Willie Ware Community Center at 697 Windsor Street will open at 12 noon on Wendesday 1/30/2019 and will remain open through 12 noon on Sunday 2/3/2019.
