WATERBURY, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Waterbury police have arrested a local man in connection with a bank robbery Tuesday afternoon.Police say William Saunders, 32, entered the TD Bank on West Main Street around 1:30 p.m., handed a teller a note, and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash-- heading toward Phoenix Avenue on foot.Responding officers found a discarded sweatshirt fitting the description of one worn by the robber, said police. Minutes later, patrol officers located Saunders at Giles Street and Walnut Avenue. He was arrested without incident.Saunders faces charges of second-degree robbery and sixth-degree larceny.Saunders was held on $100,000 bail.
