
WESPORT, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Westport Police are investigating a random Monday afternoon stabbing in the parkling lot of 1137 Post Road East that left a woman with serious injuries.
Westport Police say 18-year-old Ellis Tibere of Guilford attacked a 33-year-old Greenwich woman who was sitting in her car, waiting for an appointment at New Beauty Wellness. Tibere allegedly opened her car door while wearing a mask and began to attack with a knife.
The victim kicked him in self-defense, at which time he inflicted mutiple stab wounds to her leg.
Witnesses described Tibere and his getaway vehicle to Police, who observed him driving on Sherwood Island. He cooperated with the traffic stop. Tibere was found to be in possession of a knife and mask when stopped by officers and has confessed to his involvement in the incident.
Based on interviews conducted with Tibere, it appears the victim and location were chosen at random.
The victim is in stable condition at Norwalk Hospital.
Tibere has been charged with Criminal Attempt at Murder, Assault First Degree and Possession of a Deadly Weapon.
He is being held on a $1,000,000.00 bond.
